Title
Watchin' the Backtrail
Artist
Kent L Gordon
Medium
Sculpture - Bronze
Description
Throughout the year, with the exception of the short breeding season in the fall, a bull elk spends much of his life in solitude. His schedule is consistent; he feeds throughout the night, then shortly after daylight quietly beds down in dark timber for much of the remaining day. This majestic 6x6 rests peacefully, yet attentive, cautiously "Watchin' the Backtrail".
Kent spent five years outfitting and guiding hundreds of sportsmen in the San Juan Wilderness of Colorado in pursuit of the elusive Rocky Mountain Elk. His love for these magnificent animals is exemplified in this equally magnificent sculpture.
